What to expect on your first visit to Catalina UMC
We meet in our Sanctuary every Sunday for worship at 10:00 am
We are a reconciling congregation and choose to associate ourselves with the Reconciling Ministries Network. That means that wherever you are in your spiritual journey, whatever your age, gender, race, ethnicity, sexual orientation, economic status, education, physical or mental ability, family structure, or religious background…
you are welcome here
Service Info
Come as you are. You are welcome to dress as you feel comfortable worshiping. God cares about the heart, not a specific dress code. Whether you are a lifelong Methodist, or haven’t been to a church in years, we are glad for you to be part of our community, it’s that simple.
Our service is considered a traditional service featuring beautiful organ and choir music.
Currently for children and families we offer an elementary Sunday School during the 10:00 service. Children are invited to class after the Children’s Moment. We adhere to our Safe Sanctuaries Policies so that parents, grandparents and guardians can have peace of mind that all children and youth are in a protected environment.
We have a children’s room located on the south side of the sanctuary. Infants, toddlers and young children can move around, play, or crawl while being right next to parents as they get to participate in the worship service. A greeter or usher will be able to direct you if that is a more comfortable choice for you and your family.
Communion is served on the first Sunday of every month at the 10:00 am service. At Catalina, we follow the United Methodist practice of OPEN COMMUNION, which means you do not have to be a member of the church or a Methodist to participate. We believe this is God’s table, and God welcomes all.
