Adult Sunday School
OPPORTUNITIES TO LEARN AND GROW
Here at Catalina, there are many opportunities to learn, grow, and make friendships that will last a lifetime. We invite you to plug into any of our adult classes or groups. For information, contact the church office at 327-4296.
Breakfast Club 10:10 a.m. E18
In this group, you will be able to connect with other friendly people in an informal and comfortable setting. We take a non-thumping and multi-faceted approach to answering life’s persistent questions. Discuss your ideas and the multiple interpretations of Christian teachings as you get connected with other singles and couples. Divergent opinions are welcome and encouraged! 10:10 in room E-18 off of the Pine Tree Patio
Cross Training 10:10 a.m. Education Office E19
Our group is focused on seeking to know and serve God through prayer and the direct study of His word, the Bible. In the past, we have looked at all of Jesus’ “I Am” statements, His “Truly, Truly” statements, the book of Job and the book of Romans. Currently, we are amidst our study of “The History of Isreal,” where we have already delved into Genesis, Exodus, Joshua, Judges, 1st and 2nd Samuel, and we are now on to 1st Kings. Our original studies are interested in linking the Then and the Now, and applying it to our everyday lives as well as learning to abide in Christ, who equips us to serve the people in our communities in order to bring them closer to Him. We are looking for anybody with a thirst to know more about the Living Word of God. As we tackle the vast history of Israel, we are reading 3-5 chapters per week and invite all questions and tangential discussion (it helps everybody learn!). Please prayerfully consider joining our group that meets in the Education Office of E17 at 10:10 AM on Sunday mornings.
Morford Bible Study 10:10 a.m. E23
Intergenerational class that studies the Bible as it applies to our lives. New members are welcome at anytime.
Rev. Art Whitney’s Harmony Class 9:00 a.m. Library
Couples and singles study the scripture lesson from a variety of well known authors.
Seekers Class 10:10 a.m. H230
The Seekers, who are both couples and singles, use a variety of books and video studies on different topics. This class features spirited and spirit filled discussions as well as social activities. Join them for Sunday School and church before going to lunch with them. Making Sense of the Bible by Adam Hamilton will be discussed every Sunday from June 5th to June 26th and there will be no class on July 3rd in honor of the holiday. Adam Hamilton’s intent with this book is to help us wrestle with tough questions concerning things taught in the Bible.
NEW CLASS – Koinonia! 9:00 a.m. E18
We have a new adult class that meets at 9 am in E18. Come and give it a try!
